Electronic Repair Tech Summit
India's first technical conclave for LED & LCD technicians
A full auditorium of television technicians, a day of board-level training, and an award for the people who actually do the work — hosted by E-DIO Television Service LAB, Karur.
What the sessions covered
The day was built for people who already hold a soldering iron for a living. Serial protocols — I2C, SPI and UART — and how to read them on a scope when a panel will not talk to its board. Motherboard and T-CON fault tracing on real, failed units. eMMC backup, dumping and firmware recovery, including what to do when a set bricks halfway through an update. Power rails, backlight drivers and the failure patterns that repeat across brands. Every topic was demonstrated on a live bench, not described on a slide.
The EDIO Grand Technician Award
Television repair is a trade that almost never gets recognised in public. The EDIO Grand Technician Award was created to change that in a small way — technicians called up on stage, in front of their own peers, for the standard of their work. It ran alongside the conclave and is intended to continue each year.
Taught in Tamil, for technicians in Tamil Nadu
Most board-level repair material exists in English or Chinese. A technician in Karur, Trichy or Erode who works confidently in Tamil is expected to learn from a manual written for someone else. A large part of the conclave was delivered in Tamil, using the same vocabulary printed in the Dictionary of LCD and LED, so the terms on the stage match the terms in the book and the terms used at the bench.

The institutions behind the programme
The conclave backdrop carried the emblems of the innovation and incubation network supporting the work: DST NIDHI, StartupTN, iTNT Hub, ISB I-Venture, SSN iFound, Vel Tech and Chitkara University. A repair lab in a district town that can convene that kind of support, and fill a hall with technicians, is not a shop guessing at faults.

The same work, at the bench in Karur
Nothing shown on that stage is a separate business. The diagnostics, the bonding, the firmware recovery and the panel work demonstrated at the conclave are what happens at E-DIO Television Service LAB in Sengunthapuram, Karur, every working day. If you own a television, this is the level of work it gets. If you repair televisions, this is the training available to you.

Tell us what your television is doing
Send a photo of the fault and the model sticker on the back of the set. We will tell you the likely cause and a realistic cost before you travel anywhere or spend anything.
- Free diagnosis. No work starts until you approve the price.
- An honest answer. If the set is not worth repairing we say so — and we will buy it from you.
- A second opinion. Quoted for a whole new panel elsewhere? Screen lines are usually a bonding repair for a fraction of that.
