Questions
Diagnosing the fault
What do vertical or horizontal lines on my TV screen mean?
Almost always a failed bond between the panel and one of its COF or COG driver ICs — not a broken screen. The conductive film carrying signal to that group of pixel lines has broken down. It is repaired by re-bonding the driver on a bonding machine, which costs far less than a new panel. E-DIO has the only ultra-fine bonding machine in Karur.
My TV has sound but the screen is black. Is the screen broken?
Usually not. Shine a torch on the screen at an angle in a dark room. If you can faintly see the picture, the panel is fine and the backlight LED strips or the LED driver on the power board have failed — a much cheaper repair. If you see nothing at all, it may be a panel or T-CON fault. Either way, get it tested before buying a new television.
My TV shows the logo and then restarts again and again. What is wrong?
A boot loop, caused by corrupted firmware or failing EMMC memory. It is rewritten over the board's UART debug port or by reprogramming the memory chip directly. The hardware is normally undamaged.
The screen is blank white but the backlight is on. Is the panel dead?
That is the classic signature of a failed T-CON board, not a dead panel. It is one of the most expensively misdiagnosed faults in television repair — always have the T-CON tested before accepting a quote for a new screen.
My TV clicks but does not turn on. What does that mean?
The power supply is trying to start and shutting down on a fault, usually failed electrolytic capacitors, a failed standby regulator or a shorted component. It is one of the least expensive repairs there is.
Can a cracked TV screen be repaired?
No. The glass and the liquid crystal layer are a sealed assembly — once cracked, the panel has to be replaced. Anybody offering to 'repair' a cracked screen is either replacing the panel or misleading you.
Questions
Cost, time and warranty
Do you charge for a diagnosis?
No. We test the set, find the actual fault and give you a firm price at no charge. Work only begins after you approve the quote.
How much does an LED TV repair cost in Karur?
It depends entirely on the fault. Power supply and backlight repairs are at the low end. Bonding a failed driver IC is mid-range and far cheaper than a panel. A full panel replacement is the most expensive job and depends on screen size and panel type. Call +91 96773 34988 with your brand, size and symptom for a realistic figure.
How long will my TV take?
Board, power supply and firmware repairs are often quick. Bonding takes longer because of the preparation involved. Panel replacement depends on sourcing the exact panel for your model. We give you a realistic date when we quote — not an optimistic one.
Do you give a warranty on repairs?
Yes, with a warranty appropriate to the work done, stated on your bill when you collect the set. Ask about the specific warranty for your repair when you approve the quote.
Is a cracked screen covered by the manufacturer's warranty?
No. Physical screen damage is excluded from every manufacturer warranty in India, including Sony, Samsung and LG. You are paying for that repair either way.
Will repairing here void my warranty?
If your set is still inside its manufacturer warranty, use that first — it costs you nothing. We are for sets out of warranty, or with faults warranty does not cover, or brands with no service centre in Karur.
Questions
Brands, sizes and coverage
Which TV brands do you repair?
Sony, Samsung, LG, TCL, Mi and Xiaomi, OnePlus, Realme, Micromax, Intex, Vu, and unbranded assembled sets. Being independent means the brand badge does not decide whether we can help.
My brand has no service centre in Karur. Can you still help?
Yes — that is a large part of what we do. Mi, OnePlus, Realme, Vu and several others have no authorised television service presence in Karur district. We repair at component level, so we do not depend on a brand's spare parts channel.
What screen sizes can you handle?
24 inch up to 85 inch, across LED, LCD, OLED and QLED, in HD, Full HD, 4K and 8K.
Can you repair a television the manufacturer no longer supports?
Yes. Discontinued brands and models such as older Micromax and Intex sets are repaired at component level using generic parts, so 'spares no longer available' does not end the repair.
Which areas do you serve?
The whole of Karur district — Karur town, Sengunthapuram, Thanthoni, Kulithalai, Aravakurichi, Pugalur, Krishnarayapuram, Manmangalam, Velayuthampalayam and Vangal — with pickup and drop available.
Questions
Bringing your TV in
Where is the lab?
34, Sengunthapuram 7th Cross, opposite Mrugan Lorry Service, Sengunthapuram Main Road, Sengunthapuram, Karur 639002, Tamil Nadu.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in during opening hours. Calling first helps, because we can often tell you the likely fault and cost before you travel.
Do you collect and deliver?
Ask about pickup and drop when you call. It is available across Karur district and is strongly recommended for screens of 55 inches and above.
How should I transport a large TV safely?
Keep it upright — never flat on its back or face — pad it well, and strap it so it cannot tip. More repairable sets are ruined in the back of a car than by the original fault.
What should I bring with the TV?
The remote and the power cable, and the stand if you have it. They help with testing.
Can I get an estimate without bringing the TV in?
Often yes. Send a photo of the fault on the screen, a photo of the model sticker on the back, and one line describing what the set does, to +91 96773 34988 on WhatsApp.
Questions
Buy-back, training and the book
Will you buy my old or broken TV?
Yes — working, not working, or with a smashed screen, any brand, any size. Even a broken set has a good mainboard, power supply, T-CON, speakers and backlight in it. Send a photo for an indicative offer.
Do you teach LED TV repair?
Yes, offline at the lab in Karur and online for technicians who cannot travel. The syllabus covers panels, backlight, SMPS, T-CON, bonding and firmware recovery, taught on real sets. Teaching is available in Tamil, English or Hindi.
What is the Dictionary of LCD, LED?
A four-volume LED and LCD television repair reference written by Prasanth Aero, M.E., who runs this lab. Published in Tamil, English and Hindi. Volume 4 covers UART access, BIST panel self-test and firmware recovery, and is priced at ₹1,799 including all taxes.
Do you do bonding work for other repair shops?
Yes. Shops and technicians across the district send panels here for bonding because the machine is not available elsewhere locally. Call to ask about trade rates.

Send a photo of the fault and the model sticker on the back of the set. We will tell you the likely cause and a realistic cost before you travel anywhere or spend anything.
- Free diagnosis. No work starts until you approve the price.
- An honest answer. If the set is not worth repairing we say so — and we will buy it from you.
- A second opinion. Quoted for a whole new panel elsewhere? Screen lines are usually a bonding repair for a fraction of that.
