What we do
Display bonding — fixing screen lines without replacing the panel
Screen lines fixed on Karur's only ultra-fine bonding machine — far cheaper than a new panel.
Diagnose it first
Faults that bonding fixes
- One or more vertical coloured lines down the picture
- Horizontal bands or stripes across the screen
- Half the screen dark, white, or showing a different colour
- A block of the screen showing garbled or repeated image data
- Lines that appear or vanish when you press gently on the screen bezel
Why this matters so much in Karur
Most workshops cannot do bonding. They see lines on a screen, and the only answer they have is a full panel replacement — which on a 55 inch set can approach the price of a new television. Because the driver ICs themselves are usually fine and only the bond has failed, replacing the panel means throwing away a perfectly good screen. We own the machine, so we can offer the repair that other shops in the district simply cannot.
What actually goes wrong
The driver ICs that feed the pixel rows and columns are attached to the edge of the glass through an anisotropic conductive film — either on a flexible ribbon (chip-on-film, COF) or directly on the glass (chip-on-glass, COG). Years of heat cycling, humidity and vibration break down that film, and the electrical contact to one group of pixel lines fails. The result you see is a line, a band, or a dead half-screen.
The bonding process
The panel edge is opened and the failed COF or the old conductive film is carefully lifted. The contact pads on the glass are cleaned. New anisotropic conductive film is laid down and the driver is aligned to within microns, then bonded under controlled heat and pressure on the bonding machine. The panel is powered up on a test jig and checked line by line before the set is reassembled.
When bonding will not help
If the glass itself is cracked, or the pixel layer is damaged internally, bonding cannot fix it and the panel has to be replaced. We test the set free of charge and tell you honestly which of the two you are looking at before you commit to anything.
We also bond for other workshops
Technicians and shops elsewhere in Karur district and beyond send panels here for bonding work, because the machine is not available anywhere else locally. If you run a repair shop, call and ask about trade rates.

Tell us what your television is doing
Send a photo of the fault and the model sticker on the back of the set. We will tell you the likely cause and a realistic cost before you travel anywhere or spend anything.
- Free diagnosis. No work starts until you approve the price.
- An honest answer. If the set is not worth repairing we say so — and we will buy it from you.
- A second opinion. Quoted for a whole new panel elsewhere? Screen lines are usually a bonding repair for a fraction of that.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What causes vertical lines on an LED TV screen?
In most cases a failed bond between the panel glass and a COF or COG driver IC. The conductive film that carries the signal to that group of pixel columns has broken down, usually through years of heat cycling. The panel itself is normally undamaged.
Is bonding cheaper than replacing the panel?
Substantially. You are repairing the connection instead of buying a whole new screen assembly. On larger sets the difference is dramatic.
Does the repair last?
A properly executed bond with fresh anisotropic conductive film restores the original factory-style connection. It is a permanent repair, not a temporary patch like pressing or heating the ribbon.
Is there really no other bonding machine in Karur?
Not to our knowledge — ours is the only ultra-fine display bonding machine in Karur district, which is why other repair shops send panels to us.
Can you fix lines on an OLED or QLED TV?
Bring it in and we will test it. OLED panel construction differs and not every OLED line fault is a bonding fault, so a free diagnosis matters even more on those sets.
