What we do

TV motherboard and software repair in Karur

Dead boards, no power, boot loops and corrupted firmware repaired at component level.

Diagnose it first

Board and software faults we fix

  • No power at all — no standby light, no click, nothing
  • Standby light glows but the TV will not start
  • The brand logo appears, then the set restarts over and over
  • Backlight comes on but the screen stays blank white or blank black
  • The set died during or just after a firmware update
  • No signal on HDMI, or HDMI ports not detected
  • Smart TV will not connect to Wi-Fi, or apps crash constantly
  • Distorted, inverted, negative or scrambled picture
  • Remote or panel buttons do nothing

Component-level repair, not board swapping

A brand service centre will usually replace an entire mainboard or power supply at list price. In most cases the board has one failed component — a bulged capacitor, a shorted MOSFET, a burnt-out LED driver, a dry solder joint under a BGA. We find that component with an oscilloscope and a microscope and replace it. The board goes back in your television instead of into a bin, and the bill is a small fraction of a board swap.

Power supply faults

The SMPS is the hardest-working board in the set and the most common failure point. Aged electrolytic capacitors, failed standby regulators, shorted switching transistors and dead LED driver sections all produce the classic 'TV won't turn on' or 'clicks but doesn't start' symptoms. These are routine repairs here.

Firmware and software recovery

A television that dies mid-update, boot-loops, or shows a blank screen with a live backlight often has corrupted flash or EMMC memory. We rewrite the firmware directly — over the board's UART debug port where the manufacturer exposes one, or by reading and reprogramming the memory chip itself with a universal programmer. This is the exact work covered in Volume 4 of the Dictionary of LCD, LED, written by the engineer who runs this lab.

T-CON board faults

The timing controller sits between the mainboard and the panel. When it fails you get a blank white screen, a negative or inverted image, doubled images, or heavy flickering — symptoms that are frequently and expensively misdiagnosed as a dead panel. We test the T-CON separately before anyone talks about replacing a screen.

Smart TV and connectivity problems

Android TV sets that will not connect to Wi-Fi, forget their network, crash on app launch, or refuse to accept an update usually need a clean firmware reflash rather than new hardware. We also repair failed HDMI ports and Wi-Fi modules.

Tell us what your television is doing

Send a photo of the fault and the model sticker on the back of the set. We will tell you the likely cause and a realistic cost before you travel anywhere or spend anything.

  • Free diagnosis. No work starts until you approve the price.
  • An honest answer. If the set is not worth repairing we say so — and we will buy it from you.
  • A second opinion. Quoted for a whole new panel elsewhere? Screen lines are usually a bonding repair for a fraction of that.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

My TV clicks but does not turn on. What is wrong?

That clicking is usually the power supply attempting to start and shutting down again because of a fault — commonly a failed capacitor, a shorted LED driver section, or a short elsewhere on the board. It is a very repairable fault.

My TV keeps restarting after showing the logo. Can that be fixed?

Yes. A boot loop is almost always corrupted firmware or failing EMMC memory. We reflash the firmware over UART or reprogram the memory chip directly.

The TV died during a software update. Is it finished?

No. A failed update leaves corrupt firmware in memory, which can be rewritten. Bring the set in — this is routine work here, not a write-off.

Can you repair the board instead of replacing it?

That is exactly what we do. We repair down to the individual component rather than swapping whole assemblies, which is why our bills are far lower than a brand service centre's.

The screen is blank white but the backlight is on. Is the panel dead?

Usually not — a blank white raster with working backlight is the classic T-CON board signature. Have the T-CON tested before anyone sells you a panel.
